Benchmark your Team to get More from your People
Does your organisation:
- Build and train its testers to meet business needs?
- Overspend on temporary testers to fill a perceived skills gap?
- Have a software development life cycle model change planned that would introduce new or altered testing skill requirements?
- Have attrition rates that are higher than you expected
- Have a periodical review or refresh of your testing skills matrix and where your testers fit in?
If any of the above are the case then TSG could help. Contact us at benchmarking@testing-solutions.com
How does it work and what can TSG offer?
The Personal Test Maturity Matrix (PTMM) uses a series of best practice function definitions that are required to support the differing software testing life cycle models in use today. Contained within a matrix, each function or grouped set of functions has its own ‘Motivating Potential Score’ (MPS); the higher the score the more complex the function. Each individual is assessed using 5 key criteria to derive an accurate MPS benchmark that indicates where they are now, where their strengths lie and, consequently, how an organization can benefit from providing them with further support and career path development as a software tester.
What benefits will you see?
The benefits to be drawn from Personal Test Maturity Matrix (PTMM) are multiple, but rely very much on the commissioning organization to embrace the best practice role definitions and software testing training required as part of their internal career development programme to:
- Develop people with multiple testing skills who can be deployed in a number of different roles
- Increase available software testing skills, together with a consequential reduction in external labour costs
- Define clear and achievable career paths for growth
- Increase retention rates
Why should your organisation work with TSG?
The ‘Benchmark your Team’ value proposition is based on ‘Getting More from Your People and Increasing Retention Rates’ in order to increase:
- Productivity rates for the business
- Job satisfaction on the part of the employee
- Continuity and retention rates for both the business and employee
The activity addresses and provides independent information about:
- The testing roles and skills required in an organization, based on its software development life cycle model
- The individuals supporting those testing roles, coupled with their applicability and testing knowledge and skills to fill them
- The individuals, the testing role they are best suited to and the support required to get them there.
